This realization was set in stone by H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum when he issued his directive to require that all buildings under construction in Dubai be Green Buildings by 2008. Realizing the need for true and quality guidance in the field, two of the industry’s most respected names, Al Shafar General Contracting and Lacasa joined forces with Sustainaissance International Inc. of the USA to form Sustainable Development Solutions LLC. SDS has been formed to truly become a pioneer in the field of Sustainable Development within the region; not only to import cutting edge solutions, but to develop the same, to build on a rich history of truly sustainable survival in the region and become a hub in assuring a greener, more sustainable tomorrow.

Sustainable Development Solutions has unparallel resources and synergies within the region to fill back on, a sterling name in construction through ASGC and its group of companies who are ready to implement the solutions, and its association with Lacasa, one of the most exciting and fastest growing engineering firms in the UAE. Moreover, in its association with Sustainaissance Inc., SDS has secured a pool of knowledge on sustainable development that has spanned decades and continents.

Sustainaissance Inc.’s founder, Mr. Robert Kobet (LEED AP) is one of only 12 persons worldwide certified by the USGBC to give LEED workshops around the globe. Mr. Kobet is also co-author of the LEED for Contractors Handbook and a founding member of the LEED for Schools standard. Moreover, Sustainable Development Solutions has on board the first certified LEED AP in the region leading a talent pool of some of the region’s most promising talents in sustainable development.
